Meet the Artist

Hello, I am Tammy Haddix and I was born and raised in Missouri, where I’ve been creating art since childhood. My dream of working at Hallmark came true when I was fortunate enough to be recruited from the Kansas City Art Institute. I spent 37 years at Hallmark, first as an illustrator, creating art for everything except greeting cards and ornaments. Then, for the last 28 years, I worked as a sculptor in the Keepsake studio, crafting thousands of ornaments.

What I loved most about my career at Hallmark was the opportunity to work with and learn from talented artists, who became lifelong friends. I also had the honor of meeting and interacting with wonderful collectors from all over the country who collected my ornaments. It is such a joy to hear their wonderful stories about what one of my ornaments mean to them and why they collect them. I am so grateful.

After retiring, I embarked on a new journey, starting a studio where I can create to my heart’s content and share my creativity through Work of Whimsy. It’s more than just my studio; it’s a place where I can let my imagination come to life through charming characters filled with joy and whimsy. I’m thrilled to share these creations with you and my fans.

My greatest joy is when my art brings a smile to someone’s face, makes them happy and brings a little bit of whimsy to their home. So welcome to Work of Whimsy and I hope you will take this journey with me.
