This large beautiful rabbit was hanging out under my lovely pine tree when I came home today. I snuck up on him quietly to get a photo of him. He had an eye on me the whole time. I had to wonder if he was one of the baby bunnies I rescued in my vegetable garden last spring. I know they can be hard on my gardens, but I just think they are beautiful. They always make me think of Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit. It brings back memories of my time spent in England in the Lake District; visiting where Beatrix lived at Hill Top Farm. It is where many of her books were inspired and the setting appears in many of her books. I traveled to England in 1995 for a work research trip, with three of my co workers, my friend Joanne was one of them. Joanne and I would get up early in the morning to take a walk in the countryside. On the first day, we were both in awe of our surroundings! We literally felt like we needed to pinch each other just to make sure we were not dreaming. That is how stunning the countryside was. As I was sitting here writing this entry I felt compelled to pull out my photo album from this trip! It was such a wonderful trip, Joanne and I still talk about to this day! It has influenced my work in many ways. I am going to scan in some of the pictures from that trip and I will share them and the stories with you in upcoming entries. I will even share a recipe we brought home with us! You will love it as much as Joanne and I do! I love reminiscing!

Tammy HaddixI created Work of Whimsy as an outlet for my creativity! I create christmas ornaments on my day job. I had so many ideas that I wanted to bring to life and this was the perfect way. I can create whatever I want and if I am lucky there is someone out there that wants to buy it! So far it is going better than I expected! Archives
